OBJECTIVES

Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.  Performs work which involves conventional engineering practices, but may involve a variety of complex features.  Requires general knowledge of precedents in specialty areas and familiarity with basic principles and practices in related specialties

JOB PURPOSE

Would be responsible for reports and analysis, coordination and monitoring of system/model, interfacing with clients, managing contractors, suppliers, vendors and engineers.

  • Managing, monitoring the performance of and working as part of a team of engineers and contractors
  • Supervise project budgets, timescales and specifications with clients and managers
  • Undertake site surveys
  • Produce disaster management plans
  • Ensure that objectives and deadlines are met
  • Attending meetings with prospective and existing clients
  • Write reports and documentation
  • Manage vendors and clients
  • Liaising with suppliers, customers, directors and other teams of staff
  • Undertaking relevant research, analyzing and interpreting data
  • Providing technical support
  • Organizing and attending meetings.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Educational Qualifications &

Functional / Technical Skills

  • HND/B.Eng in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related degree
  • Min. of 2:1 honours
  • Good understanding of high voltage system – up to 11kVA/11kVA substation
  • Can read and interpret single line diagram/engineering designs
  • Understands power operations
  • Understands maintenance procedure
Relevant Experience (Type of experience and minimum number of years)
  • 3-4 years of experience in electrical/electronic engineering is required (Power option is preferred)
  • Worked in an industrial setting
Other requirements (Behavioral etc.)
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects and relate to customers
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio for analysis etc
  • Verbal and written communications skills
  • Complex problem-solving skills and a methodical mind.
  • Critical thinking and good attitude to work
  • Can make a business case

Ability to work as part of a team to develop and implement systems, as well as troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems
